Dendritic agate, also known as "tree agate", is a gemstone with tree-like or fern-like inclusions of iron or manganese oxide minerals. These inclusions are formed when trace mineral elements or debris get trapped inside the gemstone while it's forming. The inclusions can resemble ice crystals on a window in winter and are usually black or dark brown.
